Course Syllabus for Novice Training:
Entry Requirements
Candidates will have no previous experience of operating lift trucks.
Course members should be over the minimum school leaving age and have a reasonable degree of physical fitness.

- Basic Principles of Stability
- Operators Safety Code and Legislation
- Pre-use Inspection Procedures
- Traction Battery Maintenance and Charging
- Manoeuvring in Restricted Areas
- Manoeuvring on sloping surfaces
- Laden and Un-laden Pallet Handling
- Lorry Loading and Unloading Techniques
- Pallet Racking Systems and Bulk Stacking
- Stillage and IBC Handling and Stacking
- Final Theoretical and Practical Assessments
Course Syllabus for Refresher Training:
Entry Requirements
Candidates will have received adequate formal basic operator training and be appropriately certificated for the machine on test (documentary evidence of eligibility must be provided to support this claim).

- Pre-use Inspection Procedures
- Final Theoretical and Practical Assessments
Course Syllabus for Conversion Training:
Entry Requirements
Candidates will have received adequate formal basic operator training and be appropriately certificated for an equivalent industrial lift truck (documentary evidence of eligibility must be provided to support this claim).
